Wild prairie rose is as beautiful as it is fragrant! Growing on a spreading, prickly-branched shrub, large, pink, five-petaled blooms cover this wildflower from mid-spring through early summer. Like cultivated roses, bright reds hips replace these highly scented blossoms. This beautiful perennial is loved to the point of being named the state flower in both Iowa and North Dakota, and is fast becoming more popular in wildflower gardens and meadows.
